The D.C. Temple

This morning we finally made the 2 hour drive to the D.C. Temple!  Pictures just don't do this temple justice.  Everyone always says it is one of the most beautiful temples, but by the pictures I would never have guessed.  Kind of like the Oakland temple maybe?  But in person, it is so incredible!  And it is huge!!  For seven years (as long as I have been a member) I have wanted to go to this temple.  And it is also the temple that Jordan's parents were sealed in :)  So this was a special experience for us this morning!
We left at 5:40 am, and just barely made it in time for their fist session of the day, 8:00am.  We had to get the guys back in time for their 12:30 meeting, so we had to rush right back home after the session.  We did take a minute to snap a few quick pics though.  Hopefully I get to take a girls trip and go back soon so I can have more time to enjoy the beauty!
We went with our friends Mandy and Jordan Barben.  They just got married this summer :)

So neat you guys get to go on all these outings and see all these places. We're Catholic and I love to go visit Cathedrals - so I would imagine you guys feel the same when you get to visit these temples. Are you allowed to take photos inside?

If you do get a chance to go back, knock on the door of the house directly across from the temple. If it is the same woman that owns the house ask her if you can look at the master bedroom and take a picture for me please. Looks like more fun days for your memory book.
