Since he turned one, it seems Calin is determined to be a big boy.
This week I finally packed up all of his clothes from 0-12 months and put them in storage (most of them were already put away, just not organized well, and not in storage), along with lots of blankets, around 15 pacifiers, all of his baby toys, bottles, and just about anything else he has used in the past year.
Even though I miss my little 8 lb baby, it's fun watching him grow and learn new things!
Here is a short list of things he's started learning over the past week and a half:
He started standing up on his own on his birthday, and within a few days he started trying to walk.
He's still working on the walking part, and usually only takes about 5 steps at a time, but occasionally he'll walk all the way across the room. And when he falls, he usually claps and says "yay!"
He started saying "moahh" (more)
He says "maa-ee" for milk
(Switching him to whole milk wasn't too bad. He drinks it from his sippy cup pretty well now)
He also says "nay" for a horse and "baa" for a sheep
He's very good at shaking and nodding his head when you ask him yes or no questions. And about 99% of the time the shake or nod goes exactly with what you ask. It makes us wonder how much he really does understand.
He's also getting some more teeth in. Which means he has been SO grumpy this week! And has been waking up around 5am each morning, screaming, and refusing to back to bed. He takes good naps during the day, so I've been napping too, but then I feel like I'm wasting most of my day. And I'm not a 5am morning person, so doing things that early is out of the question.
So hopefully those teeth come in quick, and this routine ends soon!
There are only a few things in our house that are accessible to him (so far) that he's not supposed to get into - the trash can, and a drawer in the kitchen. And this week, that's all he wants to get into. He'll go over to one stand up by it, wait for me to look at him and tell him no, then he smiles and laughs as he starts opening it. As soon as I start going over there to get him, he quickly crawls away or just starts whining. He'll do this over and over, and pretends it's the funniest thing to disobey me.
It reminds me of my little brother when he was little
And it drives me crazy!
Other stuff:
Jordan started Fall semester yesterday, and hasn't been too excited about it yet. But it maybe it was just the cold cold rainy day in a short sleeved shirt without a jacket.
Last weekend we went to the Eastern Idaho Fair with Nate, Kelly, Tanner and Dallin. The only time I pulled out my camera was at the petting zoo, so here you go :)
This goat was a little scary, he kept ramming his head through the gate
They had goats roaming around outside also. Calin loved looking at all the animals, and was sweet and gentle when petting the puppies, but it took him a while to warm up to the goats.

Calin is sounding and looking more like a toddler! Great pics of the boys at the petting zoo!
OMG I can't believe you have a toddler! Almost too hard to believe!
