I had a wonderful Mother's Day! The kids brought me breakfast in bed (life cereal per my request, haha). Then we headed off to 8:00am church, and I came away with quite the haul of Mother's Day gifts! I got a special Mother's Day cookie, a card from each of my kids, a bouquet of roses, and a bag of chocolates! It was wonderful and so sweet! We came home and packed a picnic lunch to take on a drive with us. Jordan picked out the spot, a little town called Strawberry. It was a 2.5 hour drive (about an hour further than he originally thought), and then when we got there we found out we had to hike 4 miles to the the river and waterfalls that he was planning on taking us to. We were all in flipflops and it was at least 90 degrees outside so we decided not hike. Then we drove back to town where they were having a "May Celebration" but everyone was packing up by the time we got there (it was only 3:30). So we started to head home and decided to eat our picnic in the car. Then I spotted a little creek, so we pulled off, and it turned out to be the perfect place for us to eat and the kids to play in the water and on the rocks. Here are some pics from my phone.
I love Mother's Day. I love being a mom! It's the greatest job in the world, but it can get HARD. And Mother's Day is a nice break from the everyday mother things that I do. Jordan took over and I just got to enjoy the great things about being a mother. Like all the smiles and giggles from my kids. All the hugs and kisses and sillyness. I love being a mom, and I love all the moms in my life! Especially my own!! She is the greatest!!
