Working Hard

Well, the past few weeks I've been the only office assistant here in Jersey, so I've been working tons!  But this week our other office assistant started, so I have some days off :)  We still haven't done anything too exciting, just walks along the boardwalk and beach, picnics, errands, etc.  But I did finally make time to run to Joann's and pic up some fabric to start some sewing projects!  My first one was a nursing apron.  I've heard these come in handy, and are pretty pricy, so I found a cute tutorial for one, and made it myself!  I totally love it!  It's reversable, so cute fabric on both sides :)  And it was so fast and easy to make!!  Here is the finished product:
This is where I found the tutorial: Makeitandloveit.blogspot.com there are tons of other tutorials for super cute stuff on her site too!!

Also, since I've been here in Jersey, everywhere I go people ask when I'm due.  It's nice knowing that people do realize I am pregnant, and not that I just have a chubby belly, hehe.  My tummy definitely keeps on growing!  I still have to pick a doctor here, there are just so many to choose from, and it's scary just picking a random doctor from the long list (there are 40 OBGYN's that my insurance covers within 5 miles of me!!!  There are only 2 clinics to choose from in Rexburg!)
I've started researching strollers and carseats, and lots of other baby stuff.  There is so much out there!  How do you choose?!  I thought I would go with a travel system for our first, it just seamed easiest, but then I don't really like them as much as others.  And it seems like everyone has the same Graco ones!  The Graco travel system looks convenient and fairly reliable, but then the stroller weighs 26 lbs!!!  Ugh!  Anyone have any suggestions on types and brands, and whatever else there is to know?!
Since everyone back home keeps asking for pics, here is one I just took today, so I'm about 23 weeks in this picture (almost 6 months!!!  Wahoo!)

A nursing apron - what a great idea. And yours turned out super cute. Glad to hear you want to try nursing/breastfeeding. I will tell you it's a bit awkward with your first - even though it's natural, it does at first feel very un-natural. But it's great for the baby and very convienent! I remember always fumbling with my blankets trying to cover myself up.

Your belly is so cute!

We had the Graco METROLITE travel system for both Madeline and James. Still use the stroller, it's lite and super easy to collapse. Try checking that one out!

Hi! I'm Savannah and I'm one of Jordan's friends from the Medford ward... I've been secretly blog stalking you! :) I'm pregnant and due in 28 days and I've done a BUNCH of research on strollers/carseats. I ended up getting the Graco Quattro Tour stroller. It is rated #1 by consumer reports and is more affordable than many other strollers out there. I just got mine in the mail last week and put it all together myself and I love it! There are LOTS of different versions of the stroller, so you can spend as little or as much as you want. There are a lot nicer ones out there, but they are SUPER expensive! :o)

You are DEFINITELY pregnant :) I'm starting to look a bit more, but it can still be passed off as fat.

Love the nursing apron! I'll probably just throw a towel or blanket over my head. :)

I did quite a bit of stroller research a while ago (for some reason I've lost my drive to look at anything baby until I find out what I'm having). I really really like the Peg Perego strollers. They are a bit more pricey which is why we might not get one, but they are beautiful. Most weigh a bit. On You tube they have lots of review video's and there are quite a few that someone will come on and show you everything about it and how easy/hard it is to fold up or transition the seat positions.

A pack and play is a great idea when your in an apartment and still moving around. I can't wait to see the stuff you find! :)

Hey, you can sew!!!??? (Did you notice the background on your blog and nursing apron match? :) Man I wish I could sew (i'm working on it...)

As far as strollers go, I haven't done any research because to be honest I hear they are a pain!

I'm just getting an umbrella stroller for small tight areas (when going to the department store, or on vacation, etc.) and a jogging stroller for walks outside, running, hikes, disc golf etc. Why else would I be using a stroller? We'll see how it goes, I may be way off though. Glad to hear New Jersey is treating you guys well.

The cute bump stage is nice, (and you definitley have a cute bump) I hope you stay there for a long time... I'm pretty much a walking blob these days ugh. Hey is he a little mover waking you up at night yet? Working on any names? All these questions :) Ideas for next posts i guess...
