Grand Tetons & Jackson Hole

On Saturday we took a drive to the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole. On our drive out there we took the scenic route. It was so beautiful! It added about 30 min, but it was worth it! Lots of dirt roads and a bridge that looked like it would fall apart if you walk on it, let alone drive over it. We made it to Jenny Lake in the Tetons just in time for lunch. We found a small sandy area and had a picnic. Hopefully we'll go back soon so we can hike around the lake, it's so beautiful there!

After lunch we went back down to Jackson Hole for some shopping. I can't believe this was our first time there. It's such a cute town! And the ski slopes are so close you practically ski right into town.

On our way home we left the AC on high as we climbed a 10% grade. Us Californian's know better - oops. Smoke started coming out the vents so we turned it off and pulled over. The belt was torn in the middle, but some friends of ours said we might still be able to get home if we left the air off. And we did. We actually made it till Tuesday night before replacing it. I'm pretty sure Jordan will never question me again when we're climbing the Altamont (CA bay area) in 100 degree weather and I turn the AC off :)

I'm so glad that you went to Jackson and saw the OTHER side of the Tetons! Hardly anyone in Rexburg goes to the other side despite me telling them that you really haven't seen the Tetons until you go to the other side. It's so pretty over their, glad you had a fun time. It really is a cool town.
