Disney World was So. Much. Fun! We were worried taking two small kids to Disney World for 7 days, but I would do it again next month if I could! It was a blast! I had every day planned out (thanks to The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World with Kids) with a 3-4 hour break in the middle of each day for returning to our condo for naps and swimming. Seriously, we had so so so much fun!
It definitely would not have been as fun if my mom didn't come stay with us for a weekend. With her there we were able to get rider switch passes for the rides the kids couldn't go on without having to ride alone. We were able to do everything we wanted to at every park, my mom even performed in an American Idol concert.
The first park we went to was Hollywood Studios. This was our favorite park. Every Disney World day we were one of the firsts to arrive at the gate so we could avoid the crowds (I will never do it any other way!). Calin always found ways to stay busy while waiting for the park to open. Here he is lining up Eeyores from a shop by the gate.
Toy Story Mania was definitely our favorite ride! It was a blast! It's a 3D shooting game, and Calin was a little scared the first time he rode it. Even a month later he is still telling the story of how Buzz shot him in the eye. HA! Here's his story on video right after it happened. (He wasn't too thrilled).
I think you need 3D glasses to view the above picture correctly ;)
The light show at Hollywood Studios is amazing! And it snowed :)
Of course my mom had to try out for American Idol! And of course she got through to the semi-finals. There are 12 people each day that are chosen for semi-finals, then 3 of those perform in the finals that night. The performances are on stage with lighting and a live audience (park guests). She had a blast and did a great job! Here is the very long video of here that I took (while holding Capri, so it's pretty shaky).
While I was acting as my mom's "manager" for Idol auditions, Jordan took Calin to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground.

Best vacation ever!!!!!!
this makes me want to go so badly. We have been pushing our trip back since October, to the point where we no longer have a real plan. This makes me want to try to plan it again!!
Okay so you have to share, what ticket package deal did you go with? We want to take the kids to Orlando and all the parks in the near future but I know it will cost an arm and a leg! I haven't even researched into family packages, etc. But it sounds like you did so please do share. :)
Great pics and videos. Does look like a blast. I remember going out there as a kid and going to all the parks. I was picked from the audience to participate in the "Honey I shrunk the kids" show. Got to go on top of a gigantic bee! :)
Go Joni!!! Loved all the pics! What a fun time!
Now you can in a few months :)
What a fun vacation! Are you guys going to go when you live in Florida this summer? Matt and I looked into buying passes for both parks since were going to Disneyland in Feb. But it's 799 for season tickets to both parks per person. Yeah a LITTLE out of our price range... Were still looking into it.
The Unofficial Guide book is seriously worth every penny and just plain AMAZING when going in groups and with kids who need a schedule. Glad it worked so well for you! We live or die by that when going to Disney theme parks!
LOL! I thought that it was hilarious when calin was clearly telling you it "hurt" and then you tried to correct him. His face was priceless. It was like he was thinking ..."wait, I thought I just told you it hurt. I think I know when I got hurt, MOM!!" LOL. Awesome.
