I Do Myself

After a month of cleaning up "accidents" on the floor all day, Capri finally made the decision to use the toilet. I got her a dora kids seat for the toilet (her choice) and she has a step stool that allows her to go completely by herself. I guess that's what it took. This girl is SO independent. Earlier this week she called to me from the downstairs bathroom telling me she needs a wipe. I was helping Calin with something and didn't even know she went into the bathroom. Sure enough, she went all by herself. Now we're going on day 3 with only one accident (and even that one was on the way to the bathroom). Usually she doesn't even let us be in the bathroom with her, she yells at us to get out and says "I do myself!" OK. Everything is "I do myself" for her! She wants to dress herself, buckle & unbuckle her carseat, put her shoes on, everything really! And mostly things that she is too young to do herself, but if you even step near her she screams at you to go away and says she will do it herself. Eventually with most things (like buckling her salt water sandals) she will let us help her, but only after she tries for a quite a while. Or we have to sort of trick her into thinking she's doing it herself, when really we're doing it (such as her carseat).

So now that Jordan has started his clinical, he takes the car every day. It's ok, it's too hot to really go anywhere anyway. But we have been trying to keep busy with things around the house. Playdough is always a favorite with my kids. We make our own together, then have fun playing all the little kits I've found at goodwill for super cheap. I think this is a funny pic. They just got up from naps, so Capri still has her onesie on (only way I can get her to keep a diaper on while sleeping), and Calin is shirtless (usually is this time of year. It's too hot!) oh well, at least Capri has a clip :)

She does sound like miss independent! Well at least it sounds like you're almost done with potty training, so that's good!

Wow May does the same thing and tells me to get out when she is on the potty. What is WITH THAT! I hope she trains as well as Capri! That is so awesome! One in diapers at a time is the way to go! That picture is adorable (that's how we are most days too and we're in the mid 80's haha)
