A few weeks ago Jordan and I took a trip to New York City with Bryce and Kathleen. We were there ALL day! It was soo much fun! Kathleen is about 7 months pregnant and was such a trooper! Jordan said "Wow, I think I'm having a harder time keeping up than Kathleen is!" haha. I felt the same way. We sure fit quite a bit into one short day. Here's a run down . . .
Once we parked we hopped on the Subway to head down to Battery Park. They were doing a lot of construction on the tracks and I didn't pay attention so we got a little lost which ate up 3o min of our time (it took us all the way into Brooklyn). But I did get to snap this cool picture! It's cool because it's the first time I have ever been on the Metro ABOVE ground, and also because I totally lucked out by snapping this at the right time and missing the bars that were spaced 4ft apart!

Once we finally found our way to Batter Park, we got tickets for the Harbor Cruise which takes us around the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Staten Island and Governors Island. (They don't let you go up the Statue of Liberty anymore. And the line to get on the island is HOURS long!)
We tried snapping some pics when we were closer to the Statue of Liberty, but this is the only one that even kind of turned out . . .

After the Statue of Liberty we walked up to see the World Trade Center Site. Right now it's just a big construction site without any memorials or anything, but it is pretty crazy to see the HUGE empty space where they used to stand!

While we were at Ground Zero we ran into some other friends, Brittany & David. That was a fun surprise! Next we took the Subway to China Town and did some browsing. then hopped back on the Subway and headed to the Empire State Building. We waited about 2 hours, but it was worth it. It was so neat to see the entire city!! And while we were there we ran into Another Couple we Know! How funny huh?! I think that was my favorite part of the day, randomly seeing 4 people we know in a city so Big! Here are some pics from the top of the Empire State Building . . .
And we ended our day by taking the Metro into Brooklyn and eating the Best Real New York pizza ever! GRAMALDI'S. YUM!

Gramaldi's is located right under the Brooklyn Bridge, and you have to wait in line for at least an hour, so we took advantage of the wait and snapped some pictures of Manhattan from the Brooklyn side. These are some of my favorite pictures! The city is so cool at night!

Our summer is quickly winding down, but oh what a fun time we have had!!

Wow! I can't believe you were able to fit ALL of that into one day. Looks like fun. Weird how in such a huge city you ran in to people you know. We can't wait to have you guys back. Life will be much slower pace here for ya huh?
What a fantastic summer! I'm so glad you've had all these opportunities to see the East Coast!
My dad had 3 wishes. To go to Mardi Grau in New Orleans, Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, and the top of the Empire State building. He never made it to New York. It's good to see his grandson did that for him.
