Saturday was my sister-in-law's baby shower in Pocatello. I had lots of fun putting it together, but I wish I would have had more time to take some pictures. I was running late, and felt silly taking pictures once the girls arrived. So these are the cruddy pictures I did get.

Our other S.I.L, Mickie, couldn't make it, but she sent this super cute diaper cake that she made. I couldn't believe how well she got it to match!!

I wish I would have double this picture Mickie took, before I set up the diaper cake, but of course I was running late. Here is how Mickie set it up. Isn't it SO cute!!

I made a paper mobile that I hung from the ceiling. It turned out really cute! Cuter than it looks in these horrible pictures :)

And we played a few games which I thought I would post, and you all can play along too :)
The first one was like The Price is Right, except I just printed off pictures of items from Bloomingdale's and Saks Fifth Avenue. As I held up the picture I read the description and everyone put down their guesses. Then I revealed the real price for all of them and whoever had the lowest total difference was the winner.
So here are the items - write down your guesses as you go
#1-4 from Bloomingdale's
#5-7 from Saks
1. Dress
Burberry Infants Heart & Check Dress
A sweet and simple knit in a heart-and-check print features decorative front buttons and darling cap sleeves.
2. Rattle

Nambé Baby Rattle
For our new Baby Nambé Collection, we turned to renowned designer Sean O'Hara, whose love of fluid forms reveals itself in a series of classic gift pieces that cater as much to parents' aesthetics as baby's needs. Baby Nambé are the shower gifts that make grownups coo, and this baby rattle is a shining example. Made of 18/8 stainless steel, which is exceptionally lustrous, durable, and rust-resistant, the rattle can be chilled to help comfort teething infants.

Ok, now that you have your guesses, here are the answers -
1. Dress - $175
2. Rattle - $50
3. Shoes - $95
4. Diaper Bag - $695
5. Blanket - $175
6. Bib Set - $75
7. Footie - $175
How did you do? One girl at the shower actually went over by over $500! All the other girls were under by $400-$900.
The other game was my favorite. Or I guess it would have been my favorite if I actually played it and got the candy instead of giving it all away :)
I spread 30 candy bars over a table that all the girls gathered around. As I read out a word or phrase, the girls guessed the candy bar associated with it. Whoever said it first got to keep it!
Here's the list:
dad/husband - Big Hunk
choosing baby's name - whatchamacallit
girls name - baby ruth
diapers, formula, baby supplies - pay day
dirty diaper - milk duds
lullabies - symphony
baby love - kisses
what baby thinks of dad - pop rocks
twin boys - mike & ike
conception - skor
hospital address - 5th avenue
anesthesiologist - mr goodbar
reason you're late to the hospital - rocky road
epidural - lifesaver
obstetrician - butterfinger
labor and delivery nurses - sweet tarts
umbilical cord - twizzlers
hospital bills - 100 grand
large babies - whoppers
preemie - runts
triplets - 3 musketeers
chubby baby - rollos
breast feeding/breast milk - milky way
engorged/milk comes in - mounds
sweet father - sugar daddies
time alone - zero
mommy's break for dinner - take 5
brainy baby - smarties
sleep time - fast break
baby giggles - snickers
teething - crunch
Then whoever got the fewest candy bars was given a pack of nerds.
That was bout all we did over the weekend. Jordan came with me to Pocatello and watched Calin and our two nephews during Kelly's shower. They went to Lowes and built some fun stuff (mirrors I think?) Calin has SO much fun with his cousins now that he can walk around with them! They kept wandering off all over the place! It made me nervous, but at the same time I thought it was the cutest thing watching little Calin walk around with so much confidence with big cousins. They're all just such cute boys!

Oh that looks awesome! Those cupcakes looked scrumptious. Funny you keep saying how crummy your pictures are when I think they are fabulous. Glad the Diaper cake matched. I went back and forth about getting the polka dot ribbon forever, glad I did. Looks like ti matched well. I So wish I could have made it, you did a great job Michaela!
