Sick & BOO-ed

Calin's has had a fever for the past couple days.

But I don't need a thermometer to tell me my little guy isn't feeling well.

When he takes 2 two-hour naps before church, then sits quietly on my lap for an hour and a half during sacrament meeting, I know something is wrong.

So Calin and I just stayed long enough for me to sing in church yesterday. Which could have gone a lot better {the singing that is}

I actually wasn't too nervous about singing, but then as almost an hour passed with Calin being so mellow, I started getting nervous. The possibility that he really was sick (I had just thought it was teething) started to really worry me. Jordan and I had already planned for me to bring Calin up to the stand so he could hold him while I sang, but as the second speaker was finishing up, I had this horrible vision of Calin throwing up all over Jordan in front of everyone in the middle of our song. This sent me into a complete panic! And I didn't have time to calm myself down, or figure out what to do, because it was time for me to sing. I brought him up with me anyway, and every second I fought the urge to look behind me and make sure Calin wasn't throwing up. And he didn't. Whew! I was so worried, my hands were numb, and I could hardly focus on what I was singing. (If you saw Calin yesterday, or even today, you would probably think he was about to throw up too. The poor kid looks miserable).
He slept another 3 hours after church. Then 12 hours straight through the night. He has taken extra long naps today as well. I know he has some teeth coming in, and at least two canine's and one molar have just barely broken through, but this has been rough on him. I'm enjoying the extra snuggle time, but hope he feels better soon!

Onto the happy stuff - We have been Boo-ed!
{ Thank you secret Boo-er! Your treats were very yummy! }

{there were more treats, but we ate them before I could even get the camera out}

Aren't the little signs so cute! I love this little "BOO" tradition that goes around the neighborhood! It's so much fun! And who wouldn't love some yummy Halloween treats!! If your neighborhood hasn't started a "BOO" yet, click here to get this same "BOO" printables, and start it up!

Now, what treats should I send out . . .

I hate having sick kids.
Your Boo is so cute. We got boo'd and it was pretty pathetic and they gave us waxy chocolate. I threw it all away.

Sorry he is sick. Don't you just hate feeling helpless. This is my vote. Easy and so good!

CARAMEL BROWNIES

INGREDIENTS
50 Caramels (1 bag)
1 Chocolate cake mix
2/3 c Evaporated milk
6 oz Chocolate chips
1/2 c Melted butter

DIRECTIONS
1. Combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in heavy sauce pan cook over low heat, stirring constantly until melted, set aside. (I melt them together in the microwave while the first part of the brownies are cooking)
2. Grease a 13 x 9 inch pan.
3. In a large bowl combine cake mix, butter, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Stir until dough holds together. Press 2/3 the dough into the pan, reserve remaining dough for topping.
4. Bake at 350 for 6 minutes. Take out of oven, sprinkle chocolate chips over baked crust, and dribble melted caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Crumble reserved brownie mixture over caramel. Bake 15-18 min.

Poor Calin! Ty had all his molars come in at ONCE! Hope that happens with Calin one a time would probably be worse. I bet you sang marvelously and no one noticed how preoccupied you were.

That is a cute Boo, I just may have to start that in our neighborhood we don't do ANYTHING like that in our community. Those treats do look delightful!

You did such a good job singing Sunday! I didn't get the chance to tell you that! I didn't know Calin was sick, but when you took him up to the stand, I thought, wow he is so calm! You looked calm too:) I would have never guessed you were so worried. Get better Calin!!
