Projects

I have had so many projects going lately that I just remembered on Wednesday that I need to start working on our Christmas card (I usually have it done by now). I'm just so shocked that Thanksgiving is less than a week away. I haven't even started looking at all the leaked Black Friday adds!

Anyway, here are a few of my recent projects.

My cousin is having a little girl next month, and I saw that she wanted a moby wrap and I just loved my homemade wrap, so I bought some fabric and used freezer paper to paint on "baby byrd" (the baby's last name is Byrd) and used some to make a bird applique. I just hope it works well for her!

I also made her a little snugly blanket with some satin and minky. It's Calin's absolute favorite, so I'm sure it will be hers too :)

And this next project has been the reason my house has been in total disarray the past couple weeks. And the reason I have been utterly exhausted lately!
Calin's Quiet Book.
I had no idea the hours and days and months this book would require!
I started this almost a year ago, but have recently been really hunkering down to get it finished.
I think this fishing page is my favorite. Calin loves it! He gets so excited everyime he "catches" a fish! This page alone keeps him busy for quite a while! I still have to make the magnetic fishing pole, but the rest of the page is complete.

I have cut out pieces for so many pages, that I'm not sure they will all fit in one book (I think I have 18?). I might have to turn it into two. We will see. Hopefully I get it done before Christmas. Though, I decided completing our Christmas card needs to be first priority!
Which reminds me -
For all our friends and family: if you know we don't have your address, or aren't sure, but want a card, email it to me! kylaspence @gmail and we'll be sure to get one to you :)

And Jordan has ALL of next week off!!! We are so excited!! It will be so nice to have him home for a whole week!!! But what am I going to do for Thanksgiving?! It's just the 3 of us. I can't cook a WHOLE turkey just for us, can I? If anyone else is going to be alone for Thanksgiving here in The Burg, maybe we should get together! Let us know! : -)

AAAAAAAnd you just put my stupid little sewing projects to shame haha.

Calin looks so excited! A while back Kristin tried to get me to do a quiet book for Ty. Yeah that looks tricky, you did an AWESOME job on it!

Oh and you bet cook a whole bird for you three. Then just freeze the left over turkey. That's what I do and Matt LOVES left over turkey for sandwiches, I use it in tons of different soups, even enchiladas! Anything you would use shredded chicken in you can use turkey.

I do the same as Mickie. I use it in everything. If you don't want to do that, then I have also done cornish game hens for each person.

Cute projects!

Yes, cute projects! What is freezer paper? Also I love how you did the satin edging ruffled on the baby blanket. My kids love sating edging too.

I finished my Christmas letter (I liked yours last year). Just need to print out all 97 of em. Oh and take the kid's pictures this weekend to send with the letter. I can't believe it's almost T-day either. We did a Thanksgiving alone in Medford one year. I just bought a turkey breast from Costco and made that instead of the whole bird.

How fun!! You have been busy and all of the projects turned out great!! I am jealous I don't live closer so you can teach me how to make the quiet book for Dallin. I have been wanting to make something for him to have at church to help him sit through the meetings.
About Thanksgiving if you want to have A LOT of left overs you could just cook a small turkey or you could just get the turkey breast which is much smaller and just as yummy. I have done that before.
