23 Weeks

Alright, so I know I'm getting big, and last week when my S.I.L. posted that her waist is 36.5" at 37 weeks, I wasn't too shocked, just a little jealous, when I measured my waist for the first time and it was 35" at 22 weeks.  But I was big while pregnant with Calin also, so this wasn't too surprising.
Still, I thought it was time for another comparison.  I even put on the same purple top to make it fair.

The first picture is at 23 weeks with Calin.  The next picture (with the dark hair - I really miss the blond, but I'll keep it natural a little longer) is taken a day before 23 weeks.

Pretty sure I'm somehow even bigger this time around.  Hopefully I won't get as big as my mom did when she was pregnant with me

I did go to the dr today.  I have gained 9lbs so far which isn't too much since I'm over half way done, but I know it's just going to pile on from here on out and somehow work it's way up to the high 30's like last time.  Though they did say I don't need to do the gestational diabetes test, they'll just check my hemoglobin levels with a little prick on my finger next month :)

So I started feeling her move around 18 weeks, and she has quite a bit of energy.  She's already keeping me awake with so much movement and that never happened with Calin.  I carry so low though that I doubt she'll ever make it up to my ribs (Calin never did).

Last week I had a mini breakdown.  I was just so upset that I was still so sick all the time.  I'm happy we're having another baby, but I really wanted to take advantage of the time I have left with just Calin, and I kept waiting and waiting to feel better so I could enjoy that time and it just wasn't coming.  Anyway, I was so upset, and just tired of it all (ha, already done being pregnant at 22 weeks isn't a good sign), so Jordan gave me a priesthood blessing.  I haven't been sick since (not 100%, but no throwing up), and have had lots more energy.  I'm hoping things keep getting better!

Oh, and I finally got some bella bands.  Those things are wonderful!  I can not believe how long I have gone without them!!  Seriously, I put them near the top of the necessity list for any pregnant gal!

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I'm sure Calin is excited too. You know...I heard that if you dye your hair when you're pregnant, the baby magically changes sex. Just something to think about! :) ok I'm kidding, of course.

I am jelous that you found them this soon. I found them on my last pregnancy. I loved being able to wear normal pants and skirts. It was great.

So, can I do prego picks with you? I haven't done any before. Funny, I was thinking about it, and thought oh, I won't be able to take Michaela's because she won't be big enough before she goes. But you sure are. So glad you are feeling better. Being sick stinks for just a couple days, I can't imagine over 20 weeks!

You look great!!! Sorry to hear you're still sick. That's how I was with Madeline. Glad you're feeling better though after Jordan gave you a blessing. God's grace is awesome!

I think my waist has grown about 20 inches since I measured last. I feel way bigger! I'll measure at 38 weeks and see.

Glad to hear you are feeling better... It's such a bummer you get sick for so long! Cute purple top by the way. Do you want me to mail you a bunch of my maternity clothes in a few weeks? That picture of your mom is classic! She's just sooo PREGNANT! Yeesh!

I had someone come up to me at church and say "Wow I didn't know you were expecting! When are you due?" I said "In 3 weeks..." "THREE WEEKS and I am just barely noticing?" Haha I laughed at her, she just randomly thought I gained 30 pounds? I talked to her almost every Sunday... maybe she just wasn't observant.

Good luck getting some good sleep and some good bonding time with Calin :)

I think your pregnant belly is adorable. I'm amazed you've only gained 9 lbs. I gained 7lbs in one month! I was quite huge with Makai though. I love bella bands too I wore my regular jeans until the very end with the.

As far as spending your time enjoying just one baby, I had the same concerns. I was sick until the very end, so I actually enjoyed more quality time with Ezra when Makai was finally born. I'm glad to hear your not throwing up as of the past week and I hope it just gets better for you.

I'm so glad you started getting more energy! I don't know how you do it! You're a strong woman! Hopefully things continue looking upward, you deserve it! I gained 40 lbs with Spencer too, I'm just grateful I lost most of it afterwards. Although, no matter how much weight gained, they are worth it! Thankfully there is a light at the end of the tunnel, it is only 40 wks although may seem like yrs as times! We are so happy for you guys and know things will work out for you!

Well my baby girl. It just wouldn't be fair if you didn't get up to the same size you made your mama!! My waste was about 56" with you being 15 days late (13 days late in the picture). Just so you know, I gained my weight by eating 2 Jack-in-the-Box croissant sandwiches every morning, high protein peanut butter cookies, lots of eggs and cheese, and everything else that tasted good and would guarantee a huge and healthy baby!! Too bad you're so sick, you could eat the same way.

Seriously though, I'm so glad to hear that you got the blessing and that you're doing better! And I'm so glad that I have learned to eat healthy low fat foods so that I don't look like I'm 6 months pregnant. Take care little mama!
Love,
Mom
