We headed to Utah this past weekend, and had such a great time.
Mickie had her baby shower, which was so much fun! Kristin and Suzanne did such a great job putting her shower together! The food and decorations were excellent! They had a massage therapist there to give us all foot massages, then Suzanne painted everyone's toenails with whatever cute design they wanted. There was also a hair bow making station where we could learn how to make hair bows for little Maylee. Oh, and I got to make my first diaper cake. So much fun :) No one had their camera, but Kelly took some pictures once the guys got back (except the picture of the food, that one must have been taken by someone at the beginning of the shower - I took these pics from Mickies blog :)
Throughout the weekend we also met up with some great APX offices so we could finally decide which will be best for us this summer. We're both really glad we were able to meet with them all, and it actually made our decision a little harder than we thought it was going to be, but stay tuned to see where this summer will take us :)
Yesterday I was able to take some newborn pictures for my neighbor. Isn't she cute! She was 12 days old, and did so great for the photo shoot.
This was my first time taking newborn pictures, and was really worried if I would be able to do it. I've been worried I won't find a photographer I like when our little girl is born this summer, so it was good to practice in case I need to do end up doing my own little girl's.

You don't need a photographer. You did great shooting the baby. What gorgeous pics.
I agree with dad. This made me remember that we need to get you to take our family pics! Man, I hope it gets warmer out soon.
ah! I wasn't expecting to see little Elsie's pictures on here, they look sooooo cute!! You did an awesome job, that was so much fun!
I am so glad you guys were able to come down for the baby shower too. It was so much fun :) So yeah you don't need to hire anyone, just do the newborn pictures yourself! Cute pictures!
Sounded like a wonderful shower.
Come to Texas this summer! :)
Great newborn shots, what a precious baby girl.
My sweetie has a gift and I love that she uses it to make others happy :)
Those are great ideas for a baby shower!! I can't believe mine is in less than 2 weeks.
Absolutely love the pictures!! Another reason why I am sad we moved away from you last year. You are definitely talented.
I love the pictures of Elsie! I can't wait for you to do my maternity pictures! It'll be so fun! Way good job!!!
Oh yeah! Great job on the pictures. I like the white backgrounds. Makes her look like she is in Heaven where she just came from. Were those your props or your friend's? I am doing some newborns soon, and am really excited.
Newborns are hard, but it really does help practicing and getting familiar with what angles you like and don't like. If you want you can come shadow me sometime for a newborn shoot (if I get any more). We didn't get professionals done with Elena - we just took them ourselves. It's a little harder but is fun too. Its just good to "make an appointment" with yourself to remind yourself you need to take pictures. I had to do that with James so he'd actually take pictures and help me haha.
That's funny, "she did great for the photo shoot." She's sleeping! Of course she did great. There's nothing easier than working with a sleeping baby, right?! But, wow, those pics are awesome and totally, completely, and overwhelmingly precious! Great job! And congrats to the new family!!
Love,
Mom
You are quite the photographer! I had no idea! If I would have known I would have asked you to do some pics of carson when he was first born I didn't get any professional ones like these done of him as a newborn and I'm regretting in. Man, and you lived just a few apts down. bummer. I'm sure you will be taking lots of pics of your little girl when she arrives.
