A couple months ago I went to the DMV with an expired Idaho drivers license expecting to take some sort of driving test, maybe read some letters from an eye chart? I even grabbed a Driver's Handbook to study while I waited for my number to be called.
I waited about 5-10 minutes.
First I payed $25, then they asked me to sign a paper and snapped my picture. A moment later they handed me a drivers license and asked me if my info was correct.
I thought, "That's weird! Why would they print out my DL before I pass the test?!" I told them everything looked right and waited for more instructions. They just ignored me standing there, so I asked if I was done, and without looking up the lady quickly said "Yeah." Done? What? I didn't even do anything. And now I have Drivers License that doesn't expire till the year 2048!
2048! My 65th birthday!
I didn't even have a valid license when I went in, but 10 minutes and $25 later I walk out with a divers license that is valid until I am 65! Without taking a single test. Ok, I'll take that (and try not to think of the hundreds of other drivers on the road who never took a driving test either . . . )

Oh my goodness! What a story! I had to take a written test when I got mine in Idaho (and it wasn't even expired yet) and then they made me take another one in Utah (and it wasn't expired either). The worst part about it was, my first driver's license when I turned 16 was in Utah, so I had to take it twice! Crazy, huh? I couldn't believe they made me take it again...
Holy Moly! That's crazy!
Matt and I have had to go through the whole gambit to get out WA drivers Licenses, including taking a new actual DRIVERS test for both of us because our licenses expired. Now I want to get one in AZ and get a new one in ohhhhhh 35 years.
Wow! 2048! Amazing. I like how AZ does things. I am mad, mine expires on June 19th 2013. And baby is due on the 20th. Whether I renew before or after baby, I will be lying about my weight. :)
Wow that is a bit LONG for the expiration. I remember getting my license in Oregon and having to pass a written exam. Here in Texas I just had to take an eye exam.
Your pic turned out nice!
