Since lots of Capri's friends were going to be gone for her birthday I wasn't going to throw her a party unless she insisted. Well, she insisted! So I started the party planning just a few days before her birthday (which was the 3rd and 4th of July, days that were already busy enough!). I don't know what I was thinking trying to trow together a themed party in 2 days, but it all worked out. And they're kids, they didn't notice the major fails throughout the day. And actually a couple of them said "This is the BEST party I've ever been to!!" (I mean, sure, they've probably only been to a few given they are all between the ages 2-6, but still, it was sweet to hear).
So I stayed up way too late both nights making these cute capes and masks for each of the kids.
They loved them! And looked so dang cute as little super heroes!
We played some fun games
Shot "Villains" with squirt guns
Completed obstacle courses (the blocks are towers)
Threw grenades (water balloons) at the Villain Jordango to stop him from destroying the city
The kids really had so much fun with the games. There wasn't a ton of thought or preparation put into them, so I'm glad they all ended up being fun for them!
Then we did presents. Capri finally got those roller skates she's been wanting forever from her little bestie Hailey. And a princess Merida doll, some Frozen "lipsticks", the fun fishing game, and some My Little Pony toys, and some other fun things.
Then we had cupcakes (and not one kid asked me for ice cream, so it's still sitting in our freezer, oops!).
It turned out to be tons of fun! There were so many other fun things I wanted to do for the Super Hero theme, but maybe next time :)
Happy Birthday Holly Capri!
