Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend was super super hot here, but we still got off the couch, out of our nice cool air conditioned apartment, and out in the 90 degree weather.

Saturday the guys work from 9-sundown so I headed to River Fest with Chelsea to see what all the hype was about.

I think it would have been a bit more fun if it wasn't SO hot and if we saw some concerts.  They really did have a great lineup: Blue October, Papa Roach, Barenaked Ladies, and Nelly.  Those are the ones I have heard of anyway :)

Calin had a blast though.  We caught the end of the The Kazoobie Kazoo Show With Rick Hubbard.  He LOVED it!  He had so much fun dancing to the music with all the other kids, plus he got a balloon.  They also had a drum station with all different sized drums for kids to play on.  I think Calin could have stayed there ALL DAY!  But Chelsea and I had finished off our frozen lemonade, and had nothing left to cool us down, so we headed back home.

On Sunday after church and naps, we headed back to Riverfest.  This time we didn't get there until 6:00 hoping it would be a bit cooler.  Not much.  It was still WAY to hot for me!  We didn't stay too long, but we did let Calin go back to the drum station and beat his little heart out :)  Those that stayed for the fireworks said they were great.  I do wish we could have seen the fireworks and maybe some of the shows.

Calin held out his Verizon fan like this the whole time as if he really did want people to know he IS a Versizon fan!

We were planning on having a "camp-out" Sunday night in Calin's room, with smores and everything, but it was pretty late by the time we got home from Riverfest.  Jordan did still make a tent though, and Calin thought it was The.Coolest.Thing.Ever!  He made sure he had his Toy Story flashlight (the blue thing he's holding in each picutre) and turned on his Cloud b Twilight Turtle so we had stars to gaze at under the tent :)

Monday was another long working day for the guys.  They started at 9am and finished around 8pm.  So us girls had plenty of time to enjoy another hot hot day.  This time I spent it at the pool with the other girls.  And I have decided if I'm going to be outside in this heat, I need a pool close by!
The guys won the Memorial Day competition on Monday and went out to dinner that night.  Jordan was sweet and got our meals to go so we could eat together at home since Calin was already in bed.

I know it's only going to get hotter here, and more humid, ugh!  It's barely June and I already can't bring myself to go on a walk outside.  Thank goodness we have such a great pool here!  I don't think I would survive this last month and a half of my pregnancy without it!  :)

Yes when you live in heat and humidity - a/c and a pool/lake/river is a MUST. :) Sounds like a fun weekend. Like Jordan, Stephen worked the entire holiday weekend. Can't wait for your baby girl to arrive! So exciting!

Sounds FUN! We had a good time that weekend too with Matt and Mickie. I had the day off ;) Just thought I'd point that out. Man, the count down is starting soon for the girly girl.

Wow! It looks like you're having fun there, even in spite of the heat and advancing pregnancy! Little Calin bug is just the happiest boy!! I can't wait to see him and play with him and have him wear me out!!
I love you guys. I miss you!!
Love,
