Yesterday was one of those days where Calin's bedtime could not come soon enough.
I put him down for his nap around 1:00, and he was up pounding on his door by 2:00 (I thought he would sleep at least till 4). Jordan had to drive yesterday, so Calin and I were stuck inside all day since the temps were in the hundreds. Since he didn't really get a nap, he was super grumpy and did not want to do anything but whine and throw things at me (I don't know, maybe he just wanted to play catch? But he kept choosing items like shoes, or hard toys). It was not fun. He also wanted to climb all over me, and often ended up kneeing/kicking/elbowing my belly. So we had a long talk about the word "Ow!" (since the talk about no obviously wasn't getting through yesterday). I told him that means someone is hurt, and could make them cry, so we don't want to make someone say "Ow!" Well, shortly after that he did something again that made me say ow, and he looked up at me so concerned, turned to find his blanket, then crawled up to me with a sad face and started wiping my "tears" away with his blanket. Then he gave me a hug and kiss. He kept his sad face till I told him I was ok and gave him a small smile.
Even tiny moments like this make the most exhausting days as a mom totally worth it!
(I know his hair looks totally crazy in this picture, it doesn't look that bad in person, but yes, he does need a haircut!)
Also that morning for family scripture study we watched some Mormon Messages. We found one that sings "I Am a Child of God", and Calin wanted to watch it over and over and over again. Here is a video of him singing along.
When he was out of control yesterday and I couldn't think of anything to do, I put that video on for him and also found one singing "Families Can Be Together Forever", he sat there for at least 30 min wanting to watch them over and over again. I have a handful of children's hymns that I sing to him when he's going to sleep, and those two songs are part of them, so he just loves watching the videos with the songs, and I think it's so sweet that he loves them so much!

What a cutie. Love that little guy.
I sing those songs to Ty too... he likes Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam best for some reason...
Yep the joy in motherhood definitely is made up of moments. I think Heavenly Father made kids so cute because they need to be so we don't strangle them in the hard moments. :)
Watching him watch the videos was priceless! Cute little guy!
He's listening to the right songs.
