This weekend for fathers day we finally took a trip to New York. We were planning on making the trip for a few weeks, but then the weather report said it was supposed to rain all day long, so decided not to. Well, kind of last minute we decided to just go anyway. So we didn't leave till after 2 and got to the city around 4, but it was worth it! Since we did all the site-seeing stuff last year, this time we just took our time, relaxed, and enjoyed our time together in the city. We rode the bright orange Staten Island Ferry (free, and parking was free too) to Manhattan.
See how bad the weather looks! We got lucky, and missed most of the rain. We only caught a little at the very end of the night.
From the Ferry we went to the Museum of Natural History. Which was so great!! We'll have to go back again, there is so much to see, we probably only saw 1/2 of it.

After that we went and ate dinner at what is historically known as the first pizzeria in America - Lombardi's. I just LOVE real NY style pizza!!! It is my favorite!! And Lombardi's was the best!
So delicous! Last year we went to Gramaldi's under the Brooklyn bridge, which was really great too, but I think Lombardi's was better. And there was only a 15 min wait around 7pm on the weekend! How great is that! (At Gramaldi's you have to stand in line outside for at least an hour). I think we will definitely be visiting this place again!
After dinner the plan was to walk the Brooklyn Bridge, but the rain clouds looked like they were about to burst, so we decided to call it a night, and save that for next time. We headed over to Times Square on our way back to the ferry, and picked up a raspberry swirl cheesecake fromk Juniors. I love their cheesecake!! It has a spongy cake bottom instead of crust. YUM!!! So rich and delicious! (can you tell I'm pregnant, haha, most of my NY post is about food - though I'm sure it would have been anyway, pregnant or not I always love good food!)
Well, this past weekend I was in New York City, and tomorrow I will be flying out of JFK to San Francisco for the weekend. I'm going back to CA to visit family, and poor Jordan is staying out here on the beach - with the rain - while I'm gone. I'll sure miss him!!! But I'm excited to see my family! Happy (late) Fathers day dads!!

Yes, it is true! I think that Twilight fun is a bit of and understatement though. I became a little crazy with those books. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have read them and re read them. I will read them again and again still. haha I loved them. Colby got pretty sick of me haha. You could look back on a few of my post and see how out of control it really got :) haha
Your trip looked so fun! I can't wait to get into the city. I had so much fun when I went last and can't wait to go with Colby.

Matt and I were discussing last night how the eastcoast claims the food is way better over there. Like cheesecake, seafood, pizza, burgers, philly cheesesteaks... is this true or just an urban legend?
