The weeks are really flying by this summer! And I haven't done too much yet. I better get a move on things!
Last weekend I went with Stephanie and Shanna to a big flea market in a town close by. It was supposed to be really good. Turned out to be really bad! But they had dozens of yard sales all over, and Kelly called me to tell me about one that had really cute boy clothes that were in great shape, really cheap, and great brands! Everything was $.25-$3 per outfit. Most things were only $.50-$1.00 so it was such a great deal!
Here are a few of the outfits for 9-12 months. I got lots of pants and shorts for only $1 and lots of onsies.
Some of the cute little comfy newborn stuff. Isn't that one - "Result of an Incredible Merger" so funny! It took a me a minute to get the C.E.O. part, but I thought it was cute.
And lots more cute outfits, and shoes.
I came away with 3 bags full of clothes (0-12 months), shoes, socks, hats, bibs, and a few swaddling blankets. It was all just too cute and cheap to pass up! Ever since I've just been dying to go to more yard sales around here! People have such great stuff that they practically give away - you can't find yard sales like this in Rexburg!
I also found some great buys at TJ Maxx. I love stores like that! They have such great deals!
I found these cute Carters onsies on clearance for $2
I think this blanket was my favorite buy. It was only $2. And it's so cozy! It's etched velvet and silk! Doesn't sound too baby friendly, but hey it was only $2! I don't think I could buy this kind of fabric that cheap.
And because I recently had experiences with these two things -
Here are 2 great things to keep in mind:
1. If you loose your phone, and don't want to pay a ton for a new one or don't want to renew your contract, just buy a go-phone, slip your simcard in there and you're ready to go. Works just the same!
We did that a few months ago for Jordan when his phone broke for the 2nd time within a few months. It worked out great. It was only $20 from Walmart (nothing fancy, but he doesn't mind). Well he lost his phone a few days ago, and so we ordered him a new one for $20 (the cheapest one in the store was $40, but on the t-mobile website it was $20). Way better than buying an expensive phone just to use for a few months before we switch providers!
I thought this one was too great not to share:
2. Braden (Jordan's younger brother) taught us this one today. Have you ever rented a car, or borrowed someone else's, gone to fill up the tank and didn't know what side to pull up to?
Well, next to the little logo of a gas can on the dash, there is usually an arrow that will point you in the right direction! Why is that such a secret? It simplifies things so much! It should be common knowledge right?! Well, now we know :)

Sorry Braden it is not true.

Score on the clothes! Looks like you have tons of stuff for your little guy. Ty is serisouly lacking because his parents hate shopping but I figure he'll get by with what he has so far we'll fill in the gaps later :) Hope all is going well with your pregnancy!
You did get all the good stuff. Loved the C.E.O one too. And what, all but one pair of the shoes. :) Awesome. Weird thing, with Tanner I always put shoes on him from the time he was a newborn, but with Dallin he is almost a year and hardly ever wears them.
Those are killer deals!! Way to shop. I love boy clothes, especially when they look like a miniature man. Hope you are enjoying yourself.
* The gas arrow is so helpful, I didn't realize it was such a secret. Great tip*
It is true Kristen! Our jeep has it. Maybe the handle on the gas pump icon won't tell you (that's what snopes says) but alot of newer cars anyway have a tinny arrow pointing to the correct side. I doubt every make has them, but it sure is handy for those who do!
I'm glad we were able to snag those deals! It looks like you got so much more with them all laid out...lucky!
Cute stuff! Man what a find! My favorite line..."you can't find yard sales like this in Rexburg!" That's because there's five more boys behind the first who will need to wear out those same clothes!! LOL!
And don't let Mickie kid you about not having enough for TY. I still have three more installments in Ty's wardrobe.
ha ha. looks like you're entering the world of crazy moms. i started yard saleing when levi was 5 months old and now, you know, i'm an addict. there's just no better way to do take care of needs for your growing family, and it's so fun. i never thought as a teenager, though, i'd be into that.
Yup with a ton of the Hertz cars Stephen brings home most of the have the arrow on the dash for the gas cap!
Wow Michaela great buy on the clothes!!! You got them for a steal!
I did the same as Kelly - with Madeline as a newborn and a baby I always had shoes on her. James was practically always barefoot! I think it's just so fun to accessorize your first baby - and then with your second you've got less time to get everyone ready! :)
P.S. Forgot to say, love the baby blanket. Actually all the baby blankets I've sewn my kids have satin on them - that's their favorite part to rub with their fingers or wrap around their fingers.
Awesome deals on the baby clothes. Dallin is jealous...haha! Hope you are having a great summer. We miss you tons!!
oh my gosh! such a great post! the gas tank secret is revealed and you bought an entire 1 year wardrobe!! Good for you. We found out Tuesday that we are having a girl :D and I've bought quite a few things. 2nd hand stores are great because they are cheap and they are hardly worn. I'm posting pictures of the stuff I found in a few days :)
Cute clothes and what deals!!!!!! Your little baby will be the best dressed for sure!
hugs,
b
