This is what Calin's been up to lately:
*Smiles, laughs and squeals all the time - especially when you talk and smile with him
*Loves to play with his hands and feet (he's working on getting his feet into his mouth - and getting very close!)
*Rarely takes his hands out of his mouth, and if he does it's only to grab something else to put in his mouth (that combined with the drool factor and extra fussiness, we're pretty sure he's teething)
*He loves watching us eat. He'll follow my fork and cup with his mouth open and tongue out hoping he'll catch a little, lol
*Loves to stand - he just needs to work on balance :)
*Blows lots of bubbles
*He's always been a good supported sitter, but he's working on sitting unsupported. It's progressing (slowly), but again he needs to work on balance.
*Almost positive he recognizes his own name (often when we talk to him he won't look until we say "Calin")
*And getting very close to rolling from back to tummy
He did so great at his Dr. Apt! He was so smiley and giggly. The nurses said he was the happiest baby they have seen all day. He got two shots and a drink for immunizations. When the nurse gave him his first shot, she kept smiling at him so he didn't know what to do. His face turned red, and you could tell he still wanted to smile back, then she gave him the second one and he started screaming. Only for a few seconds though. As soon as I picked him up he stopped and started smiling at the nurse again. He's very quick to forgive :)
I finally remembered to ask the doctor about these red spots on the back of his head (he's always had them). I thought it was a rash because sometimes they're really red and other times you can hardly see them. Turns out they're birthmarks.
Now lets see how much he's grown
Weight
4 months 15.6 lbs 59%
2 mo. appt - 12.7 lbs 71%
increase of 2.9 lbs and down 12%
Hight
4 months 24.5" 28%
2 mo. appt - 23.25" 59%
increase of 1.25" and down 31%
Head Circumference
4 months 16.3" 21%
2 mo. appt - 15.25" head circumference 20%
increase of 1.05" and 1%
His weight and height went down in percentile quite a bit, but he's still doing super! I think we'll wait a while to start solids. I'm in no hurry to start changing stinky diapers.

Ohh man solids are so fun! Such and adventure... the stinky factor wasnt bad at all. Maybe he just had stinkers to begin with :)
That little Calin is SUCH a cute little guy! I wish y'all lived closer so I could hold him more!
Ty has the same birthmark on the back of his head too, My Doc called it a storks kiss? He said they will fade and go away later in life. Precious, our boys have matching Birthmarks.
Keep up the good growing Calin. Ty shrunk a little too at his 4 months then shot up for his 6 month. He's probably just in between growth spurts.
OH and dont be suprised if he isnt teething quite yet, my Doc said they teeth in stages. Ty went through the SAME stage and is just starting to teeth now. A runny nose and low grade fever are sure signs (well at least for Ty they were) Always look for white gums too.
He's getting so big and cute! I love your little month signs you do. What a cute idea!
What a cutie patootie! I always loved this age (4-6 months). They're so full of personality and reaching so many milestones. Enjoy your little man. I hope we can meet him this year!
P.S. I remember the stinkiness changing once my kids went from strictly breastmilk to that and solid foods! Peeeewwwww! But it is fun to see them eat baby food and discover how much they like it!
He is a cutie. I hope y'all are making books for the kids and writing in them so they can read them when they get older. Thanks for the update.
i am in love with him!!! i love that you do these monthly updates for those of us who don't get to see him grow! ;( tear.
He is super studly! What a happy boy, and solid foods are fun! I love to watch them pick up their own little foods with their finger grasp. Too cute!
Also my Tyler has the same red marks on his neck too, and they will fade.
